A Filipino Martial Art System
Kali-Silat is a Filipino Martial Art over 1200 years old. It is tried and tested on the battlefield and is believed to be the art that killed Magellan and his warriors when he landed in the Philippines. Kali incorporates empty hand and weaponry as well as specialized sections on Dumog (grappling and moving the body), Panatukan (Filipino boxing), Panajakman or Sikaran(Filipino low-level kicking) and flow / energy drills such as Hubud and Kunci (locks and manipulations). The style of Kali-Silat we teach is a combination of Pekiti-Tirsia, Dekiti-Tirisia-Siradas, Doce Pares and Pencak Silat Pangian Lankah Empat. The result is the art and science we call "SinaTirsiaWali".
Categories of training include:
The basis for the single stick or sword are the original 64 Attacks of Pekiti-Tirsia and Close Quarter Drills of Dekiti-Tirsia-Siradas.
64 Attacks:
The Basic 12 Attacks of the single stick can also be converted into many knife and empty hand applications. Everything in the system is drawn from the basic concept of "Sinawali" (to weave) or "SinaTirsiaWali" to weave up close. There are 155 Sinawali movements taught in a fluid sequence with the double sticks. The movements are practiced both solo and with a training partner. These movements combined with cooperative and uncooperative drills enhance the students speed, timing, sensitivity and power to create the ultimate Kali-Silat Warrior. Proper mindset, breathing and internal training round out this program to create the perfect balance of peace and power within the Kali-Silat Warrior...
